What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and is to be our final authority for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:20)

We believe in the fellowship of all believers and that God’s grace is the uniting factor between all Christians. (Romans 3:22-24; 1 Corinthians 12:25-27)

We believe in doing all things well in our service to Christ and achieving the best quality with the resources we have available. (Colossians 3:17)

We believe every Christian needs personal and corporate encounters with God and these are intended to be refreshing, life-giving, challenging, and inspirational – that everything comes down to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. (John 15:1-4; Acts 4:13; Psalm 23; Acts 2:44-46, Matthew 7:21-23)

We believe all people have worth and value to God and therefore to us. (1 Timothy 5:21; James 2:1)

We believe in the discovery and development of our God-given gifts and talents for service to Jesus Christ. (Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6)

We believe the command of Jesus to make disciples is the ultimate priority on the university campuses of Nebraska and throughout the world. (Matthew 28:18-20)

We believe in living out the love and grace of Christ in practical ways with the people closest to us, in the surrounding community and throughout the world. (1 John 3:18; John 13:34-35; James 2:16-17)

We believe in the submission to and active support of godly leadership. (Hebrew 13:7; 1 Timothy 5:17)

We believe that where God guides, God provides – and our grateful response to that provision is to practice wise stewardship of God’s resources. (Genesis 22:14; Matthew 6:26-33; Psalm 115:5)

We believe that God has called us to be a people of prayer and invites us to spend time with Him in nurturing a personal relationship. (Colossians 4:2; Philippians 4:6; Ephesians 6:18)

We believe in encouraging a prayer-guided faith that is willing to take bold risks. (Matthew 14:28-29; 1 Samuel 17:45-47)

We believe that leaders are accountable first to God and then to the people they serve. (Hebrews 13:7; Romans 14:12, James 3:1)

We believe God honors a spirit of humility, integrity, and Christ-like character in all areas of service. (1 Peter 5:5-6; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; Philippians 2:5-11)

We believe in the need to share our faith with others in the world. (Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Acts 5:42)

We believe that God comforts, guides, motivates, and empowers Christians by the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:14; John 16:13)

We believe that every Christian is a minister and is placed by the Lord in a place where they can make a difference for Christ’s Kingdom. (1 Peter 2:9)

We believe God invites us to a life of wild abandon, reckless passion, childlike faith, and scandalous grace. He desires to so totally transform our lives that we become Jesus to a lost and hurting world. (Luke 9:23; Romans 12:1-2; Romans 5:1-2)
